Brief history of our company
World Freight Limited was established in Macau since 1982 with the main business activity of international sea freight forwarding. Relying on the international agency networks of our Hong Kong and overseas counterparts, we have been able to connect to the rest of the world and to provide quality services to local and overseas customers alike.

Riding on the waves of economic reforms and prosperity of China in the eighty’s, we have extended our activities into China in subsequent years – our major attention is targeted at the Pearl River Delta ports (PRD), such as Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Shenzhen , where numerous manufacturing industries jointly invested and operated by overseas and Chinese interests are housed.

Macau and the ports to the west of the PRD are to certain extend handicapped by the comparatively inferior port conditions to that enjoyed by Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Thereby traditionally majority of freights from these areas were transshipped to Hong Kong and Shenzhen for further loading into ocean carriers and aircrafts. We have thus actively engaged in the cross border* traffics between Hong Kong, Macau and China.

Along the road, we have moved on to ship agency, land transport, household and commercial removal, exhibition and events logistics etc.

In 1995, when the Macau International Airport became inaugural, we have immediately placed due attention and efforts in participating into the airfreight market. Today we are proud of the recognition we have achieved in this field.

Due to the historic background of Macau with Portugal, we have developed a close traffic tie and connections with the country for many years. Catering to our regular traffics with Portugal, we have established associate offices in Lisbon and Oporto.

* After July 1997 and December 1999 Hong Kong and Macau were returned of their sovereignty to China by Britain and Portugal respectively. The two territories are now considered as Special Administrative Regions of China, where ways of life and social systems are to remain unchanged for 50 years. Flows of passengers and cargoes between Hong Kong / Macau and China are subjected to immigration control and customs and exercise regulations.
